A5 Leaflets With A Punch For Fight Show

Gimme Media took on this tight print deadline of some A5 Leaflets for our friends at Doncaster Martial Arts Centre. After finalising sponsorship of local MMA fight show CSFC, part of the sponsorship was a leaflet drop on the night - but it wasn't until the Monday evening that they realised that their existing leaflets weren't suitable for the target audience.
After a meeting on Tuesday morning, we were briefed that the leaflets should target both adults and children. The adults should predominately target three of the disciplines taught at the club - MMA, BJJ and Muay Thai, whilst the children should target mainly the new Bullyproof Class.
Whilst we had photography for all of the above disciplines, the adults images weren't quite suitable, so stock photography was bought - the children's image was one that had recently been taken.
One side of the leaflet would target adults, the reverse children. Printed 4 colour process on a 170gsm Gloss, the artwork was approved Wednesday morning, print ready PDF sent to the printers and the leaflets delivered on the Friday, ready for them to be placed on seats Saturday morning.

Challenges
The first challenge with the A5 Leaflets was the timescale. With only three days to produce artwork and get the print delivered, we had to ring around a couple of our printers to find one that could help out. Normally digital would have helped, but with the print run being 800+ as a minimum, this job needed to be litho. In the end we ordered 5000 so that they could be used for future purposes.
So, with only one existing image we could use, stock images were purchased from Adobe Stock of the three different fighter styles (MMA, BJJ and Muay Thai), background stripped out and added to a design that suited the target audience. Whilst it was these three martial arts styles we were mainly advertising, the other martial arts were mentioned - therefore covering all of the disciplines taught at the club.
The children's side of the leaflet concentrated on the new Bullyproof lessons that DMAC were teaching. An existing image taken during the class was used, adding in the various USP's that DMAC wanted to be included.
All in all, considering the timescale, we were more than happy with the look of the leaflets and the quality of the print delivered. DMAC were over the moon and they were able to put the leaflets out on Saturday morning as planned ready for the CSFC show in the evening.
